Examples:

Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Tester

• To detect the presence of voids, honeycombing or other discontinuities in concrete cubes or structures.

Accelerated And Natural Carbonation Setup/Chamber 

• To measure the depth of carbonation through the surface as (CO₂) gas in the atmosphere penetrates the concrete cause “carbonation process.” Once the lower alkalinity of the carbonation front reaches the steel bar ,the passive film surrounding the steel bar is destroyed, which initiates corrosion process leading to expansions, cracks and strength reduction.

 Rapid Chloride Permeability Tester 

• To determine resistance of the sample specimen to chloride ion penetration which can cause damage to steel structure.

Los Angeles Abrasion Apparatus 

• This equipment is used to measure degradation of mineral aggregates of standard grading (resistance of aggregates to abrasion).

Compression Testing Machine

–                    A concrete cube is broken to see how well the cube bears the force of pressure.

–                    The moisture of the raw materials is measured to know the percentage of moisture that affects the concrete mix.
