On the 9th of July 2019 Al Safwa announced the inauguration of tire recycling facility in cooperation with Jeddah Municipality and Jeddah Development & Urban Regeneration Company (JUDRC).
AlSafwa Cement Company proved its position again as a responsible pioneer in heavy industry by leading the change in green solutions, utilising tires as source of energy. the ceremony was with presence of AlSafwa Chairman Eng. Mazen Alkhayyat, Jeddah Mayor Mr. Saleh Al-Turki and JUDRC CEO Eng. Ibrahim kutubkhanah.
The project is considered as key milestone toward zero landfill due to supporting Jeddah Municipality to resolve the Rodent & Dengue Fever issue by eliminating the 12 Million piled up dumped tires.
The project investment is SR 39 Million divided into two phases:
- Co-Processing system at AlSafwa plant.
- Pre- Processing platform at Jeddah Landfill.
This accomplishment is one of the initiatives of innovation & Business development team which is a result of Teamwork, sustainable efforts, dedication and continuous management support to overcome all challenges and obstacles.
